James P Kirby writes: I would like to know why I am being declined for credit. I did claim Bankrupcy in 1999 and did have an issue with child support. I cleared the child support issue in 2003 and am up to date with all of my payments.I would appreciate you getting back to me on this and I also now am a home owner so I do not see why I am being declined all the time for credit.I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Credit Repair writes: First step is get your credit reports, from all three bureaus and see what the reports say. The bankruptcy could still be effecting your credit score. But you'll find out when you look at your reports. Owning a home is a big plus, as long as you have never been late on your mortgage payment. It's also not a good idea to be applying for credit to often that brings your score down. So get your credit reports and go from there, that way you can see what the creditors are seeing. Hope that helps James.
