I am currently filling a dispute with providian bank right now. Providian reported false late payments on my credit report. I haven't heard many good things about providian. I would stay away from this bank. Has anyone else had any problems with this bank?

Hello Anonomyous, I am really interested in hearing more details about this situation you are in. So what exactly did they report that was false? I too haven't heard many good things about Providian, but I would love to see how we could help people in your same situation. So if you get the chance could you let us know more details?

Well Providian Bank reported that back in 2004 I had three 30+ late payments. Then I pulled my credit report six weeks later and the report said that providian reported four 30+ late payments. When I called providian and spoke wtih one of the customer reps. that looked into it, she said there were only two late payments. I am in the middle of trying to qualifiy for a mortgage loan and the four late payments does not look good and brings my score down. I hope it all works out.
